RARE Antique Cobalt 3 Gal Stoneware Flower Pot Planter AK BALLARD Burlington VT. Up for sale is a stunning 3 gallon flower pot made by the AK Ballard company in Burlington Vermont. The pot has a beautiful cobalt blue flower design. Extremely rare stoneware flower pot. The top has a flared rim and the base has a original drain hole that was put in at manufacturing, not drilled later on. The stoneware piece dates back to circa 1870. The condition is very good for the age, no chips, dents, cracks or repairs. The surface shows some peeling. The of the top layer (it appears to have been varnished over at some point in the past and the coating is peeling off). Very good condition and very clean piece inside and out, probably never used as a planter. The pot measures 11″ tall by 12″ wide at the top tapering down to 10 at the bottom which gives it the shape of a planter/ flower pot.
