Available for sale is an early large redware preserve storage jar. The jar has a pinched neck & a narrow 2 3/4 opening. It is overglazed in a brownish red glaze & is decorated with specks of black manganese on the shoulder & body. The jar measures 10″ in height, 7 1/4″ base diameter & dates from 1835 – 1865. It’s in amazingly great condition with no damage or repair whatsoever. Likewise, no nicks or abrasion to brim & base. The light areas seen in the pictures are some residual pale blue paint specks.
