Antique German Blue Salt Glazed Stoneware Tobacco Jar Humidor Oak Leaf Acorn
Up for sale is this beautiful and rare German salt glazed stoneware tobacco jar. I have never seen another on quite like this one with a unique raised relief oak leaf/acorn pattern. The inside lid has a sponge compartment to keep the humidor from drying out the cigars/tobacco. It looks to be the original sponge in there. It is in overall good condition, please see photos. I spotted a tiny chip on the lid rim when inspecting this to list here. You can see in photo. The box measures about 7″ tall and diameter of the base is about 5″. The bottom of the jar has remnants of the pottery process, this is not a crack, just a line made in the making of the pottery back in the early 1900’s.
