Antique Stoneware crock canteen Whiskey barrel cask Unusual Rare
Have not seen another – this seems to have been carried on a shoulder strap. Maybe for sales at events like horse racers or parades or? I just think its very unique that its apparently portable instead of a bar back piece. Please study the close up of the strap attachment. If anyone knows more or has anything to share please reach out to me. Just a great shape in a sort of oblong barrel. I would love to see an image of this style with a strap. Not sure if the nozzle or tap is original its definitely of age and appears original. The tap has dried cork that rests inside the barrel that has shrunk over time so the tap fit is loose. Just as a stoneware crock its beautiful and the barrel stylizing is really cool. I have many other quality primitives listed.
