History of salt-glazed pottery: Westerwald Pottery (stoneware) is a distinctive type of salt glazed grey pottery from the area of Westerwald in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. The clay of the area is almost free of impurities and is perfectly suited for stoneware production.
