George Ohr Style Crimped Coffee Mug Micro Crystalline Black Glaze Sam Lopez
Sam Lopez (San Diego, California) Studio Art Pottery. George Ohr style wheel thrown altered coffee or tea mug, cup. Semi-glossy fine micro crystalline gunmetal black glazed surfaces. Buff colored stoneware ceramic body. Signed faintly under the glaze “Sam Lopez” and dated “2011” at underside. In Excellent vintage condition with no damages we can find, other than a firing drying line at underside which does not extend though to interior. Measures approximately 3.50 inches tall, 5.50 inches in diameter at its widest point, 3 inches in diameter at the rim exterior, and 3 inches in diameter at the base. Weighs approximately 1/2 lb.
