This is a medium-sized stoneware jug made by F. Woodworth in Burlington, Vermont during the 19th century. The jug is decorated with cobalt and is signed by the artist. Its style is naive and primitive, and it is made of clay and dough. This jug is an original piece of pottery from the US Northeast region. This is an F. Woodworth Cobalt Decorated Stoneware Jug. You can find the 4 gal. Size but try to locate a 5 gal for sale much harder to do just none on the market. Condition is has a hairline crack about halfway up please see the last 3 photos. Other than that the jug must be from years and years of milk running over it while it was being churned into butter inside has rings of the same color all the way down the sides it’s a real used piece. Measures 18″ to top of rim and 19 1/2″ including the lid 8 1/2″ across the outside of the rim ans 9 1/4″ across the base. Heavy solid piece of antique stoneware.
