Edgefield Pottery (Marked Inverted V) Early Pottersville Jug Stoneware C 1820. This piece is from the Pottersville Site in Edgefield S. It was turned 1820 give or take 10 years. Marks- it has an inverted V on the shoulder. Deep mark and covered with glaze. It also has another mark on the shoulder, it is a horizontal linear mark under the glaze as well. Glaze- beautiful glaze with amazing runs. Condition- it has a restored handle. I cleaned it all off and removed the handle and made another that only meets the original handle. The start of the terminal of the handle has 1.5 of original handle, bottom side has an original fingerprint at base of the handle. I didnt cover the original on top side or bottom side. I wanted to be able to see original. In as made condition aside of the handle. Will be packed professionally and insured. Beautiful piece and great price.
