Fore sale is this stunning antique COBALT Blue & White Stoneware / Spongeware pitcher with very unusual MOUNTAIN PEAKS sponging decoration!!!!! It has raised ribs approx. 1 from both the top rim and bottom rim around the entire perimeter. Also, there is a slight flare / taper at the bottom of the pitcher. This piece is from the late 1800’s or early 1900s. 6-7/8″ high x 5-1/8″ dia. I have not cleaned this item – will let the new owner have that pleasure! I consider this piece to be MINT “as made” condition. CRACKS, HAIRLINE CRACKS, OR REPAIRS. This piece is in AMAZING condition especially considering it’s over 100 years old and was used as a utilitarian piece on a daily basis. It has the usual manufacturing characteristics found on OLD salt glaze stoneware i. Pits, pops, glaze skips, rubs, runs, bubbles, glaze separations, staining, crazing, and wrinkles & lines in glaze.
