Large Early (1880 -1895) Salt Glazed Stoneware Cuspidor Spittoon
Pictured is an early salt glazed stoneware cuspidor available for sale. The interior is overglazed in brown Albany. Slip glaze & the body has two incised blue decorative bands. It measures 4 1/2″ in height, 8 5/8″ in base diameter. & dates from 1870 – 1895. It’s in very good condition with two small chips to the inner rim & three shallow flakes at. The corner of the base. There is an exceedingly fine hairline near the edge of the brown Albany glaze, see pics. I’ve posted a picture of the underside of the cuspidor as well. The underside is in excellent condition, any incised. Lines seen are inmanufacture. This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”. The seller is “tebfam044″ and is located in this country: US.
