Pictured is a beautifully sponged early teapot decorated in a light chocolate brown & off-white coloration. This is a seldom seen, rare color combination for this spongeware teapot. The bulbous teapot is a large 5-cup size having a shapely gooseneck spout, domed lid, & an acorn finial grip. It measures 7 in overall height & dates from 1860 – 1885. It’s in excellent, superb condition. There is but one minor nick on the “tab” which holds the lid in place while pouring. A wonderful addition to your collection of early spongeware….
