Available for sale is an novel redware serving bowl. The tapered bowl is glazed with a bright brick red coloration & is decorated with three (3) large sponged areas in dark manganese. The sponged decoration is also seen on the brim & the interior rim. The bowl measures 4″ in height, 9″ in rim diameter, 6 3/8 in base diameter & dates from 1845 – 1870. It is in excellent condition with a small 1/4 shallow flake on the top brim of the rim. There are two very small slivers on the underside as well (see Pics). The decorated redware bowl is attributed to the Haig family pottery in Philadelphia, PA. This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”.
