RARE LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY VINTAGE SALT GLAZED STONEWARE BUTTER CROCK, W/ WIRE HANDLE/TURNED WOODEN GRASP &. No hairline cracks, flea-bites, stains, abrasions or loss make this particular antique late 19th to early 20th century American salt glazed stoneware butter crock or butter bucket, an especially outstanding one. Superb cobalt blue and pristine white glaze decorate the lid and sidewalls. The raised eagle design is rare and the entire vessel, the heavy wire handle and the dry, turned wooden hand grasp are all in wonderfully well-preserved antique condition. Gorgeous surfaces and incredible condition. Right out of a fine estate on the North Shore of Massachusetts, where it had been for many, many years. Killer color, killer condition and killer raised eagle design motif, make this early salt glazed stoneware butter bucket a killer Americana/primitive stoneware piece.
