This is a rare, one and one-half gallon. Stoneware, salt glazed storage jar or crock I attribute to Maulden Perine of Maulden. It has Perine’s distinctive dropped flower and feather pattern, with a flower on two sides. It was wheel thrown and hand decorated ca. It has three small, old chips on the rim, but no other chips and no cracks or restorations. The capacity mark, “1 1/2″ is impressed inside a coggled circle in the style used at Maulden Perine & Co. The beautiful cobalt decoration is strong in color and the crock is a rare size. It is 11 ht. And weighs 7 lbs. This is the first time this outstanding Baltimore crock has been listed, and it could be a great addition to a collection, a wonderful decorative piece for any décor, or an outstanding gif. I describe every item as well as I can but remember that the photos are part of the description. I will do everything I can to resolve any issues. I have more great antique pottery and stoneware that will be listed in the coming weeks, so please check back often.
