Salt glaze stoneware dates back to the 1500’s in Germany. While the pottery was fired, salt was added to the kiln to create a textured, nubby effect and a clear, glassy finish. This 3 liter open crock has two looped handles. Decorated with a rich, cobalt floral design, it brings old-world charm to any room. Condition consistent with age and use. One chip on the side shown in photos. 8″ x 8″ x 5.5 diameter opening.
