The stenciling is COBALT blue. The overall height is approx. 7 from bottom to top of lid finial. The base measures approx. 5-13/16″ high (without lid) x 5″ dia. At the top rim. The canister is embossed with diagonal bands at the bottom. The lid measures approx. X 1-1/2 overall height. Hull from the early 1900’s. The canister lid is embossed with diagonal bands around the center finial that match the Canister base. CONDITION: The base is in excellent overall condition with one glaze flake approx. 1/2 wide and a few glaze flakes and minor roughness to the bottom rim and a few minor chips to the unglazed bottom foot. It has some glaze pits, pops, and discoloration. There is a glaze separation line at the inside top rim – this is not a crack, it is part of the manufacturing process. Is in fair condition with three chips as shown in photos and minor roughness to the outer rim / edge. The largest chip measures approx. NO CRACKS, HAIRLINE CRACKS, OR REPAIRS. It has the usual manufacturing characteristics found on OLD yellow ware / stoneware i. Pits, pops, glaze skips, rubs, runs, bubbles, glaze separations, staining, crazing, and wrinkles & lines in glaze.
