ANTIQUE FOUR QUART STONEWARE PITCHER. This circa 1885-95 variable color orange, brown and tan salt glaze stoneware pitcher holds four quarts to the top of the shoulder. It has a similar, but lighter glaze on the interior. It measures 11 tall with a diameter of 5-5/8” on the bottom and weighs 6 pounds. It has three incised line decorations… One at the top and bottom of the broad shoulder and another 1/2 below the top rim. The rounded top rim extends enough to provide a cloth tie-off. The 1-3/8 wide handle has a ribbed decoration. The pitcher is in good condition with a crack left of the pour spout running from the rim to the bottom of the shoulder and two shallow chips or flakes on the side. The crack does leak. THANKS FOR VISITING LANE’S COUNTRY LARK!
