Antique Late 19thC Southern Stoneware Milk Pitcher South Carolina/Georgia
Handsome antique Southern stoneware milk pitcher estimated to date to the late 19th century. I believe it was likely made in South Carolina or Georgia in the late 19th century time period. In sunlight, the pitcher shows an olive tint. 10-3/4″ in height; body of pitcher is 7-3/8″ at its widest. In good estate condition with no cracks, hairlines or repairs. There is a chip on the inner rim which is shown in photo #9 and also a chip on the outer rim just above the handle which is shown in photo #10. Both of these defects are hard to see and do not detract from the piece. Otherwise, that are the usual production/kiln defects associated with this kind of utilitarian pottery glaze skips, etc. Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.
