Early Salt Glaze Teapot. This exquisite Mid-Victorian salt glazed stoneware teapot has a pewter lid. Adding salt to the kiln creates a gleaming, but transparent glaze and a smooth, slightly imperfect texture similar to that of an orange. Round body moulded in high-relief with flowers and spearhead border. The hinged lid has a cornucopia finial. Dates early 1800’s. Approx 7″H X 9″W. Condition: Lid completely broke off where tear is visible in photo, Small chip to spout, otherwise minor imperfections to be expected. I will be listing a large Collection of Salt Glaze Stoneware, many pieces from a private collection. Please review photos closely. I try and represent items as accurately as possible. If there are any issues upon receipt of the item, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
