The piece has a thick jugtown type glaze, but it could be one of many upstate potters. It is getting harder & harder to find good early pottery like this. Get it while you can. Photos 7-8 show what could be some writing on this piece, photo 11 shows what could be an” X “on the shoulder. It is 8 3/4″ tall & 5″ at the base. It is hard to make out anything, but it adds a touch of allure to this piece. As always, if you have any questions, just ask!
