Antique Primitive Saltglaze STONEWARE Pottery 8 Thrown PITCHER Cobalt Floral. Wonderful antique primitive saltglaze stoneware pottery pitcher measuring 8 tall. Featuring a bulbous shape with narrow foot, pinch nose spout, small applied handle and rich cobalt blue stylized floral decoration, side is marked 1 1/2, foot and collar have a simple band of blue, handle bears a “V” accent, and pitcher reflects touches of brown from iron oxide. Unmarked as to maker, it dates late 1800s. Condition is very nice with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs or damage – lots of typical imperfections including orange peel/dimpling, glazed over flaws, kiln kisses, an under the glaze handle nick from make, and dullness to the interior from use. A really nice, clean example with a graceful jug shape – nice. Addition to any collection or display! If questions, please contact me – thanks! Get images that make Supersized seem small.
