Extremely rare Galesburg Pottery Co stoneware pitcher. Engraved “To Carrie From Burris July 20, 1897″. Tan and black with pointed spout and angular handle. (The spout is chipped but adds to the charm). Measures 8″T x 7″ at widest. Galesburg Pottery in Galesburg, IL was built in 1891 and burned to the ground in December 1897 and never reopened. Carl Sandburg was employed at Galesburg Pottery for a short time. This is a very rare, one of a kind piece of Americana.
