Very hard to find pitcher in this condition. I see no damage of any kind. Not much is known about who made stupid’ pottery. It is likely from middle Ohio, and made in the very early 1900’s. It is uniquely made in 3 pieces as opposed to the more common 2 piece pitcher. It also has a deeper blue band color. It is appropriately soiled on the bottom. 9 1/4 tall, as it should be. Any other size should be questioned. Everything is exactly right with this pitcher, I believe the best you will ever find. The legend behind the name given to “stupid” pottery is interesting. The short version is that an impatient photographer, after a long day, asked for that stupid pitcher be moved into his final shot. The folks present found it hilarious and the name stuck. It is priced to sell.
