Here for sale is a super nice early 19th century pottery tavern mug. Made from stoneware, it has incised blue bands and a large applied handle. It is made with a unique concave bottom which gives the mug quite a heavy feel. It measures 5 inches tall by 3 1/8 inches across the top. The top blue band is even carefully applied in an arc over top of the handle. The brown glazed interior suggests it is NY state in origin. Likely made for tavern use.
