One Gallon Redware Jar Stoneware Pottery
Pictured is an early (1835 – 1865) redware jar from the mid-Atlantic area offered for sale. The jar is decorated with vertical small streaks of dark manganese over a brick red background. The ovoid jar measures 9 3/8 in height. It’s in excellent condition in regards to the rim & the body with no nicks, damage or repairs. As seen, the underside has a faint hairline which runs 3/4 the way across the base & then up the side 1 1/2. This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”.
