Good condition overall with the main flaws being a repaired area on one side, as well as a few nicks/scratches and signs of wear from age and storage. I don’t know anything definitive about this piece, however it seems to have been made to look ancient or something like that as it appears to have a mud/dirt-like layer on the finish that makes it look like it was dug from the ground. There is some type of black paint or decoration around the main box and also the metal base stand under the top layer of finish. The brass center accents on each side look like clock pendulum covers to me, but I could be wrong. There are two black coated rods with dried leather on each end that must’ve been meant as a handle. There are some spots of dark brown glaze similar to that used in sewer tile pottery, however I cannot be certain of the age of this piece. From an estate of a collector in Cleveland, so it’s guessing from Ohio based on that. Measures 15″ x 7″ x 9″ (9.25″ on stand). Feel free to message me with any questions.
