Pig flasks are extremely rare and are highly collectable in any form. This flask is modeled after the Anna Pottery pig flasks. Unlike the Anna pig flasks, there is no record of who produced this flask. It was likely mid-west and probably Ohio. The flask opening is on the end of the snout. As with the Anna pigs, this one has its feet tucked under its body. There is a lite application of Rockingham glaze with the yellow ware clay showing through. Measuring 6 ¼ in length the pig is in near mint condition with only a flake on the top of its snout. Another example of this pig flask is shown in Lisa McAllister’s. Collector’s Guide to Yellow Ware Book II on page 60. This is an extremely rare and spectacular piece of yellow ware pottery for the advanced collector.
