Nice early Pennsylvania redware penny bank. In a dark Albany slip glaze. The redware bank is quite bulbus in shape, has a fine line of coggle decoration. And a prominate decorative finial. There is some minor roughness to the finial. Hand written into red clay on the bottom of the bank is the name “Jennings”. Sure who that refers to, perhaps for whom the bank was made?? The condition is quite nice, having no major chips or hairline cracks. It is about 6 tall and would be a great addition to your pottery collection. This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”.
