Antique Watt Pottery Moon And Stars Stoneware Covered Dish. Such a great find! This stoneware bowl with lid is one of the earlier patterns (1920s-1930s) produced by the Watt Pottery Company of Crooksville, Ohio. This is the charming “Moon and Stars” pattern, featuring an incised new moon and stylized star, alternating with graduated vertical lines, very much in keeping with the simple designs of utilitarian pieces from the early 20th century. The shape is very typical of the period, and the color is commonly referred to as “pumpkin orange, ” although this may be a more recent appellation. Our research suggests that earlier pieces of Watts pottery were unmarked. Fantastic addition to the modern farmhouse or French-style kitchen, or a collection of antique stoneware. See dimensions and condition description below. Tall to the top of the lid x 7 3/8? Diameter at the rim x 4 3/8?
