Pictured an early, quaint-sized blue & white spongeware shaving mug offered for sale. The bulbous, ovoid-shaped mug has two sets of thin blue slip bands, one around the neck, the other at its base. The decoration is seldom seen versus the three (3) banded midsection version typically seen. It has great color, color contrast, & sponge design. 3 1/2″ in height, 2 1/8″ in base diameter, & dates from 1860 – 1885. It’s in excellent condition with no nicks, damage or repairs whatsoever. A novel addition to your blue & white and spongeware collections… This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”. The seller is “tebfam044″ and is located in this country: US.
