Here for sale is a wonderful 17th to early 18th century pottery mortar with a wooden pestle. It is quite heavy and thickly made. It has a tall side wall with four rounded points at the four edges. One of the points has an indented groove for the wooden pestle to rest in. The mortar measures 6 inches across the top points, and 3 3/8 inches tall. The pestle measures 6 inches long.
