This is a RARE 1800’s Catawba Valley North Carolina 2 Handle Molasses Jug in a huge 5 Gallon size. 1800’s Gorgeous, Incredibly RARE Catawba Valley, North Carolina TWO HANDLED Stoneware Oyster Jug. Large 5 Gallon with absolutely stunning craftsmanship, with three perfectly made & applied handles, rolled rim platform base and upper rim. Deep, rich Catawba Brown Streaks, with an alkaline glaze that gives it that slightly green cast. Without a chip or cracks. Inherent little pops in the glaze are a natural occurrence during firing.
