RARE 1985 Rockdale Union Stoneware Cobalt Reclining Deer Stag 2 Gallon Crock Wis
This is for a fantastic RARE 1985 Rockdale Union Stoneware 2 gallon salt glazed crock from Cambridge, Wisconsin. It has an exceptional brilliant blue cobalt decoration that depicts a reclining spotted deer stag with a turned head. He is surrounded by shrubs, ground cover, a pine tree & fencing. This decoration is not commonly seen in Rockdale Union stoneware. It has two applied handles with cobalt blue highlights. The other side has a cobalt applied decorative “2” & impressed “ROCKDALE UNION STONEWARE 1985″. It measures approximately 10 3/4 inches height by 9 inches outer upper rim diameter & bottom base 8 3/4 inches diameter. It is in wonderful as made condition with its only flaw being a small underside chip on one side handle. Please see pictures for more details.
