Pictured is a novel blue & white stoneware jug offered for sale. The two-toned cone top jug has a very unique coloration, a white Bristol glazed base & a blue which I’ll refer to as a dark “Air Force” blue. A great color contrast, great eye-appeal. It measures 11″ in height, 6 3/4″ in base diameter, & dates from 1895 – 1920. It’s in excellent condition with no nicks, hairlines or repairs. Noted is but a small shallow flake on the underside footer, see last pic at 3 o’clock. The jug is incised “A1″ below the handle. The incised mark typically represents the mark of the foreman or manager of the pottery as a quality control measure. The jug is attributed to the northern Midwest area. A stoneware coloration I’ve not seen before…. This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”. The seller is “tebfam044″ and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.
