1800’s Red/Brown Tin-Glazed Luster Stoneware Jug 14 Ewer Ovoid Form. For your consideration is an antique crock jug, made of thick turned stoneware. Heavily glazed with a dark red/brown Luster Tin Glaze, left unfinished on the underside. Characteristic “Pumpkin Seed” ovoid form. Antique, first half of the 19th century. Acquired in Rural New England. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN THE PAGE FOR MORE PHOTOS! 14″ tall, 8″ largest diameter (across). Weighs about 10 lbs. Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos below. Minor spots of missing glaze, roughness at the extreme bottom edge from extensive use, minor flakes and roughness on the lip, altogether commensurate with age and purpose.
