Offered for sale is a great little yellow ware preserve jar. This is perhaps the smallest of sizes for this shape & form. The container has a straight-sided body, pinched neck, & rolled rim. It measures but 4 5/8″ in height, 3 3/4″ in base diameter, and dates from 1860 – 1885. The upper half has been overglazed in dark brown Rockingham manganese glaze. It is in excellent condition with no nicks, damage or repair. As seen, there is a thin 3/4 horizontal inmanufacturing air bubble pop an inch from the base.
