Extremely Rare, Very Early, TALL CROCK , STAMPED PETER HERRMANN Crock. Sideways 3-leaf clovers (5 in all) encircle the entire piece. 13″ Tall x 8″ Across. Made in the Baltimore, MD. Great piece from a famous potter in all the reference books. The only apologies are a tiny manufacturing hairline I just noticed after a lifetime of see and using this crock, about 2 It’s covered with slip and glaze, it was there before firing it. A few small nicks to the outside rim. Interestingly this tall, early crock also has a small tilt. I did my best to capture this little quirk in a picture. I just love it – adds to the character and shows it’s an early piece before stoneware was perfected. Please see all the pictures to enjoy this beauty and for the best description. Quite the addition to any stoneware, farm, primitive or country collection. I’ve attached a couple pictures of our some of the 1700’s and 1800’s buildings on our farm, including a slave cabin we renovated and furnished with period pieces. More pictures for the asking.
