Pictured is a quite early sponged yellow ware figural dog offered for sale. The King Charles cavalier spaniel is overglazed & blended with three (3) colors; brown manganese, green oxide & cobalt blue. The figural is the work of the Rosslyn Pottery Co. Located in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. It measures 6 1/2″ in height, 4 3/4″ in base length, & dates from 1860 – 1885. It’s in excellent condition with no post-production nicks, damage, or repairs. Noted on the underside are three kiln tear touch marks, one of which resulted in a small flake at the corner edge, see Pic. A novel, early yellow ware figural with great eye-appeal….
