For sale is a RARE! 19th century Antique Stoneware Crock by COWDEN & WILCOX, New York (signed). What made this one unique (and very pretty) is that it is painted with Summer Flowers! It seems to be that the stone jar was manufactured to be plain grey, and someone who really know what s/he is doing painted it with the proper color and technique long times ago. The mellow coloration is rather fitting for the antique pottery, perfectly unique to be added to your antique stoneware collection, or a great flower vase for your country home! The jug is 8 tall and 4.5 in diameter at the bottom. There is no hairline or cracks anywhere that I can find. There is only one small chip on the mouth opening on the side (not very visible when viewed from the painted side). The inside has original glaze in brownish color. Please check each photo carefully for the exact condition. Feel free to check out my other stoneware and antique primitive listings. The item “RARE!
