This rare and charismatic American stoneware watercooler was contemporary with the arctic exploration of the late 19th c. It is 10.25″ tall and is 8.75″ in diameter. I believe it has a 2 gallon capacity. It has its original functioning brass spigot but no lid. It has four firm hairline cracks in the sides (almost invisible from the outside) and one hairline crack in the base. There is also a old chip in the bottom edge (see photo 5). None of these issues distract from the outstanding appearance of this historic piece. The item “19th c. American.
