South Carolina Stoneware Jug Johnson pottery butter keeper from Laurens County SC house. Given to my brother by his mother in laws family was kept in the farm house in Joanna SC. He was told it was a butter keeper and was used as such until the lid was broken. Has a tiny bit of rutile blue under the rim where glaze was thick. Has firing separation inside the bowl about 1 inch and large firing separation under the foot base. 5 inches tall and 6.5 wide across the bowl not including the handle.
