Rare Antique 1810 Signed Horse Leg Handle Mug Cane Caneware Yellow Ware Mint

Here we have a wonderful highly decorated mug. The handle is unlike anything I have ever seen. The handle bottom is a horse leg attached to the side of the pitcher at the hoof, the top is a horse tail with the hairs flowing down the outside and inside of the rim. The potter is identified as Brameld, with their signed cartouche on the underside of the mug. The side is decorated with applied blue clay sprigged classical children playing musical instruments. There is also a blue clay draped decoration applied to both the outside and inside of the rim. Measuring 4 ¼ to the top of the rim and 5 ¼ to the top of the handle, this is in original mint condition with no damage or repairs. The creativity in this piece is a testament to the skill and imagination of a single master potter who produced this wonderful mug.
