A wonderful Martinware Martin Brothers stoneware ovoid vase with collar neck, incised with classical masks and scrolling foliage in cream and blue on an ochre brown ground. Old label to within the vase reading Martinware London/Southall 1896. Incised to the base. Martin Brothers London & Soulthall. 15.5 cm, 155 mm. Excellent condition for age- there is a firing glaze flaw to the body leaving white patches as shown. The mark to the base is difficult to clearly read due to the glaze. As shown, displays well.
