A fabulous ANTIQUE late 19th century DOULTON STONEWARE Motto Jug. This is a highly collectable s alt-glazed jug. Bellarmene style with a finely modelled, bearded face beneath the spout with MOTTOS / verse. Fill what you will. Drink what you fill. Surrounding the jug along with applied slip-ware decoration. Made by the famous (ROYAL) DOULTON factory, LAMBETH. VERY good antique condition. There is a hairline to the base of the handle probably made during final firing. There is a filled chip? Or wear to the glaze on the lip. See photos #3 & 7. Minor age related surface imperfections. NO CHIPS; NO CRACKS; NO REPAIRS; NO CRAZING. Measures 19 cm high x max. Weighs 850 grams before packing. 120 year old jug would make a GREAT ADDITION to any good BARWARE or Royal Doulton pottery COLLECTION.
