C1720, ANTIQUE 18thC GERMAN STONEWARE SALT GLAZED BELLARMINE POTTERY BOTTLE JUG. An antique salt glazed. German stoneware pottery wine/oil bottle. Dating to the early 18th Century, circa 1720. The beautifully crafted jug, with speckled deep brown glaze, has a circular handle to the neck and a ribbed bottle rim. The underside of the jug is unglazed. Height: 22 cm or 8 3/4 inches. Handle: 13 cm or 5 1/8 inches. In good antique condition, without damage or restoration, only expected firing faults and wear to the glaze, commensurate with substantial age and mainly confined to the rim of the base.
