Circa mid to late 1800s. Exceptional folk art clay head of a man with flowing beard. Small dish shape at top back perhaps for personal items such as a ring or coins, shape is similar to a sash window support but more cup-shaped. Nice caramel colored salt glaze. Very good condition with one old larger chip in base and minor glaze chips around rim and base. 5 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ x 3 1/2.
