These are wonderful antique tiles from Italy. You can see the same building in many post cards of the area. These tiles are just under 6″ x 6″ and again, just under 3/4 thick. As you can see, they are not perfect as they have been installed and taken out, I assume, as evidenced by the thin layer of some kind of cement, and the nips around the edges of the tiles. The people in Italy place these kind of tiles on the doorways for good luck I believe. There are lots of potteries and since these aren’t signed, I can’t attribute them to any specific artist.
