Antique Bellarmine jug / Batmannskrug. Made in Frechen, Germany around 1650. Grotesque bearded face at neck of jug. Center medallion in oval boarder of crown over shield. Salt glazed early German stoneware. Rat tail at bottom of handle. Wire marks on base. 8.5 inches tall. 5 inches wide at the belly. Condition: The usual firing flaws kiln kisses, etc. And wear from age. Light scuffing on medallion done at time of production. Minor chipping around base. A tight hairline crack toward rear of jug, see (photos 4 & 9). White spots in photos are reflection from light. Ease take a look at photos and let me know if you have any questions.
