Antique Wheeling Pottery LARGE STONEWARE TANKARD PITCHER 12.5H x 9W 1880
The stone china pitcher has a slightly tapering cylinder shape with a porcelain strainer spout. Circa: 1880 – 1886. Gold bands are bright. Dogwood blossoms against bright pink are hand painted, the colors are bright, and the dogwood branch is on both sides of the tankard pitcher. Early Wheeling hallmark with eagle, shield and globe with banner: STONE WPC CHINA. Gold ink numbers 5 5 1. Dimensions : 12.50H x 9Wide (Spout to Handle). Top Rim Diameter: 6. There is some age related wear as stated in the condition section that is limited to one tiny shallow chip on the bottom right end of spout (see photo) and a small dent on pewter top (see photo).
