ANTIQUE FLORAL & LEAF COBALT DECORATED SALT GLAZE CROCK W/ EAR HANDLES! Gorgeous cobalt decorated floral and leaf design accents this lovely primitive salt glaze stoneware churn base or crock. Loaded with the years of patina as you can see in our posted photos, it carries interesting evidence of a green underglaze peaking through the salt glaze, most notably on the top rim edge and base bottom. No signature is found. Interior carries a brown slip. Applied ear handles integrity is very good. The entire piece shows evidence of fleabites here and there, chips and rim hairlines… Please review posted photos. These faults add interest and do not truly detract, certainly nothing unexpected for it’s age and use circa 1820-90. However, if you prefer a pristine example, this piece is not for you. Wonderful display piece or addition to your American primitive collection. Measures in at about 14″ tall with a top opening of 7 & 1/4″ to the rim edge, 6 on the interior rim lip. Questions if you have them… We prefer our clients to have Public, rather than Private, feedback. Additional Packaging Requests : We have received a few requests to ” double box ” our items.
